Seperti yang kita ketahui bersama bahwasanya Windows merupakan OS yang sangat rentan dengan yang namanya virus, trojan, bahkan malware. Mungkin Anda kerap jengkal bahkan sempat dibuat shock dengan yang namanya virus dan sekutunya yang menular dari USB Flashdisk, CD, atau DVD. USB Flashdisk merupakan media penyimpanan data yang sangat membantu kita dalam menyimpan data sementara waktu, dan USB Flashdisk juga media penyalur penyebaran virus nomor satu di dunia. Mengapa USB Flashdisk, CD, atau DVD menjadi media penyebaran virus yang efektif dan efisien? Karena Windows memiliki fitur autorun yang dapat dimanfaatkan untuk menyebarkan virus ke komputer pengguna Windows, dengan kata lain ketika USB Flashdisk, CD, atau DVD terhubung dengan komputer maka seketika itu pula Windows membaca seluruh isi yang ada pada USB Flashdisk, CD, atau DVD. Pernahkah Anda menemukan file Autorun.inf di USB Flashdisk Anda atau rekan Anda? Seringkali kita jumpai file Autorun.inf tersebut terdeteksi virus oleh Antivirus Anda; terutama pengguna Avira. Jangan Anda anggap remeh keberadaan autorun.inf di Flashdisk Anda bisa jadi file tersebut adalah malware yang siap memberikan kejutan berupa hadiah virus untuk komputer Anda. Seiring semakin populer perkembangan penyebaran virus melalui Flashdisk beberapa Antivirus pun mengembangkan vaksin atau imunisasi untuk Flashdisk Anda agar Autorun.inf pada Flashdisk tidak dimanfaatkan oleh virus sehingga kita dapat meminimalisir penyebaran virus, trojan dan malware dari Flashdisk. Penggagas utama lahirnya vaksin atau imunisasi adalah Panda yang diberi nama Panda USB Vaccine, dan disusul oleh BitDefender yang diberi nama BitDefender USB Immunizer. Namun sayangnya Panda USB Vaccine sepertinya tidak dikembangkan lagi oleh Panda Antivirus, sedangkan BitDefender masih tetap mengembangkan BitDefender USB Immunizer. BitDefender USB Immunizer 2.0.0.8 adalah versi terbaru dari BitDefender USB Immunizer yang membantu kita untuk memberi imunisasi terhadap USB Flashdisk dengan menanam file autorun.info yang tidak dapat dimodifikasi oleh virus.

Cara penggunaannya pun terbilang sangat mudah, Anda jalankan aplikasinya dan mengklik ikon Flashdisk yang akan diimunisasi pada BitDefender USB Immunizer 2.0.0.8.

LibreOffice 3.5.3 Final adalah aplikasi perkantoran yang hampir sama dengan Microsoft Office dari Windows. LibreOffice merupakan aplikasi yang dikembangkan libreoffice yang dapat digunakan oleh penggunanya secara gratis.

Fitur:

• Menyimpan dan membuka dokumen dengan format ODF (Open Document File)
• Mengekspor dokumen ODF menjadi flat XML.
• Membuka dokumen *.docx. Docx adalah format dokumen standar untuk aplikasi Microsoft Office 2007 dan terbaru.
• Menyimpan dokumen dalam format PDF.

Changes in LibreOffice 3.5.3 Final (2012-05-02):

• This release is bit-for-bit identical to the 3.5.3 Release Candidate 2, so you don’t need to download or reinstall if you have that version already.
• The distribution for Windows is an international build, so you can choose the user interface language that you prefer. Help content is available via an online service, or alternatively as a separate install.
• Starting with this version, our Windows binaries are digitally signed by The Document Foundation.
• For Windows users that have LibreOffice prior to version 3.4.5 installed, either uninstall that beforehand, or upgrade to 3.4.5. Otherwise, the upgrade to 3.5.2 may fail.
• For Windows users that have OpenOffice.org installed, we advise uninstalling that beforehand, because it registers the same file type associations.

• If you run Linux, the GCJ Java variant has known issues with LibreOffice, we advise to e.g. use OpenJDK instead.

• Microsoft Office 2010 will complain that ODF 1.2 and extended documents written by LibreOffice 3.5 are invalid (but opens them still). This is a shortcoming in MSO2010 only supporting ODF 1.1, please see here for further details.

Pada postingan sebelumnya saya telah jelaskan apa itu Waterfox, bila Anda baru mengenal Waterfox saya akan jelaskan kembali apa itu Waterfox. Waterfox 12.0 adalah Mozilla firefox yang dibuat khusus untuk pengguna Windows x64/ 64-bit yang mengoptimalkan kecepatan dan kinerja Mozilla Firefox. Waterfox 11 dikembangkan untuk memenuhi kebutuhan pengguna Windows x64 yang kini penggunanya sudah cukup besar namun kerap kali bermasalah dengan Firefox yang notabennya masih ditujukan untuk pengguna Windows x86. Apa perbedaan dari versi sebelumnya? Pada Google Chrome versi 18.0.1025.168 Stable Google Chrome kembali memperbaiki beberapa celah keamanan yang ada pada versi sebelumnya dan beberapa perbaikan lainnya, tapi tampaknya dengan perbaikan celah keamanan disetiap versi-nya Google Chrome semakin menghabiskan memori yang berakibat pada performa komputer yang menurun.
